Did jaguar Macho B have to die? Apparently not...
The snaring itself was illegally done. The animal was dehydrated.
Veterinarians were in a REALLY big hurry to put him down when the autopsy shows no signs of kidney failure...the alleged diagnosis.
Perhaps injuries during the illegal snaring AND dehydration were in fact Macho B's only issues?
How can humans be so damn stupid sometimes? There was NO NEED or REASON to hurry this irreversible decision.

WRAL says illegals are leaving anyway...
So why is the ACLU making such a fuss about "profiling"? Why so much money and time spent defending illegal people and illegal behavior.
This is the problem. These people should not be deciding, because they don't like the "economy", to leave the Country. They should be getting deported - on an hourly basis.
Go back to Mexico if you are not here legally. I'm tired of supporting you.
Can't seem to get a headline about THAT problem though...

"Comments" block - News & Observer, Raleigh, NC
I've been commenting on the biased reporting done by the Raleigh, North Carolina News & Observer reporter, Kristin Collins for nearly a year. Every article she has written is in regard to illegal immigrants and every article has some spin applied to the headline to press her case that illegal immigrants deserve more of everything than any legal citizen or immigrant. It has been blatant biased reporting.
This morning's article is titled:
"ACLU seeks deportation data"
Once again, the slant is towards the poor illegal immigrants and how the local counties around Raleigh are working with ICE to profile and deport these poor, poor souls.
I saw one of them just yesterday riding into the parking lot of a local grocery store in a huge Ford F350 with the dark window tint and chrome and fancy rims---they checked out in front of me and used food stamps...yes, that's MY profiling...
Apparently I am not the only person who does not like the biased reporting. I went to comment on this latest article and guess what? I read this instead:
The commenting function on this story has been turned off because of abuse.
Well, yeah...if the paper will continue to let a reporter plant biased stories about the plight of people illegally in the US, I guess she, or they will have to expect the heat.
The article infers that local police officials have been profiling. What legal citizens will be angry about is that the ACLU - formerly the AMERICAN Civil Liberties Union and now known to some as the HCLU - HISPANIC Civil Liberties Union - is trying to force police departments to compile and turn over ALL info on any contact with ICE and anything else to do with immigration.
This is something police departments have a RIGHT to do and it is the law.
The ACLU and the News & Observer AND Kristin Collins are ALL supporting and now protecting illegal activity in the US. When they don't like what legal citizens have to say about it, they turn off the "comments" function". This is how we, who are footing the bills for ALL these groups and people, are treated.
I guess "freedom of speech" in this instance is by subject only as decided upon by this newspaper.

Goodell: Vick must show 'remorse' to play in NFL again
Can you say "blacklist?"
I promise I will never watch an NFL game again if Vick is reinstated.
Vick was remorseful once he got caught. This little "operation" was putting money in his pocket - he showed no remorse about that.
I'd check his Meyers-Briggs - he's exhibited pure sociopath behavior. If he was not, he certainly would not be writing a book about his "experiences" to put more money in his pocket and to make more dollars from the death and suffering of hundreds of dogs.
Not one, not two...HUNDREDS...

Mexican border - Why NOW?
Obama to beef up Mexico border policy
The gates are already open and the criminals and their behavior are already in the US.
While I applaud anything that stops the flood of illegal immigrants into this country, it annoys me that it takes some drug cartel/violence escalation in MEXICO to get someone moving.
Does this mean US citizens need to get more violent about the illegals already in our country in order to get the government working on THAT side of the problem?

U.S. - with firms - to buy 'bad' assets
"WASHINGTON (CNNMoney.com) -- The Obama administration on Monday will formally unveil a program to help banks clean up their books by subsidizing private investors' purchase of troubled assets."
Subsidizing private investor's purchases...
"Under the new Public Private Investment Program
(What is a "Public Private Investment Program?" It's either "Public" or Private", right?),
taxpayer funds will be used to seed partnerships with private firms to buy up assets backed by mortgages and other loans."
Using taxpayer dollars...
So when you write that check in April or look at how much money you've paid in to the government this year out of your income, know that what is not already used to support illegal immigrants, is being used to prop up wealthy real estate investors.
This starts off a work week on a useless note. Maybe by the time I get to Thursday, I will be working for me - not illegals, and not wealthy, greedy, ignorant investors.

Sarah Palin - One Sick Bitch
From: Defenders of Wildlife
There is NO REASON IMAGINABLE for this level of violence against ANY LIVING THING!
When people think of Alaska, they think of its amazing wildlife and natural beauty. But Alaska has a terrible secret: Each year, the state permits private citizens to chase down and kill dozens of wolves using low-flying aircraft and high-powered rifles.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and anti-wolf officials in the state have worked hard to obscure the truth about the aerial gunning program, even going so far as to earmark $400,000 in state funds to "educate" Alaskans about the state's baseless aerial gunning program.
This woman must be stopped - she is totally out of control.
Take action, NOW!

Something has to change and fast....
Climate is #1 threat to polar bears
Photo: By Jonathan Hayward, The Canadian Press/AP
I can not believe anyone can look at this picture and not want to do whatever they can to help these animals. However, if the comments on USA Today are any indication, many of the uneducated have swallowed the Kool-Aid and feel that higher gas prices will be the major human "cost."
This is not only a selfish but short-sighted and erroneous response to the problem. No matter the ignorance of Governor Palin who decides that there is and then isn't global warming based on her current self-interest, there is the potential loss of this great animal, forever, in North America.
The storyline fed to many is that Exxon and every other gas and oil lease company in the US HAS to drill and explore and rape and pillage the land in order to keep fuel prices down. This is not true. Every consumer has a huge ability to make long-term decreases in what we use which lessens the power of the fictitious stories fed to the masses by the oil and gas industries.
It may be easier for some to play deaf, dumb and blind...dumb being the operative word if corrections are not made in the way we make use of the natural resources we have available. Time will soon be running out for more than polar bears if not.

Mexican's Bully Mentality
Mexico to raise tariffs on US exports
Mexico' officials are going to raise tariffs on 90 exports to the US because:
"The new trade measures are in retaliation for the cancellation earlier this year of a U.S. commercial trucking project and will target U.S. industrial and agricultural products delivered to Mexico, Mexico's state-run news agency said."
Meaning: We fought so hard to keep their unregistered trucks from driving on US roads beyond a specified commercial zone.
These are trucks that are not required to comply with US rules for emissions, insurance or anything else the average legal American driver is required to meet. This would have been simply an approved method for allowing more Mexican illegal activity in this country and it was rightly, denied.
It shows the bully mentality of the Mexican government, which already has the US supporting so much of it's "native" population, that their first response is retaliatory. Their Export Secretary sounds like he has drug cartel training. NOT what we want in this country - enough already...
Too bad no one in a role to make a difference will just tell them to keep their exports until they can act more civilized.

Nothing but contempt for all legal US citizens
Citizens, illegal immigrants jostle for jobs
Once again, this particular reporter for the Raleigh, North Carolina News & Observer conveniently adds and then deletes the word "illegal" before the word "immigrant" - depending on what slant she wants to promote. This is a major part of the problem revolving around this whole issue of immigration.
Legal US citizens should NOT:
I am not an idiot and neither are you. I know what the word illegal means and I know I am not supposed to take part in anything that is. Now, my country, the United States of America, is telling me that not only is illegal GOOD for me, but that I have to support it with my tax dollars.
The government confirmed this again this past week by removing the requirement for employers to use the E-Verify system before getting any stimulus (read tax) dollars. This means an employer can get free money and STILL not have to use the system to verify a legally-hired worker - and they do NOT have to use the very system OUR tax dollars paid to have developed.
They are playing us all as fools. They take our hard-earned money in ever-increasing taxes and use it to constantly bolster people who should not even BE in the United States.
Most of the media is either biased towards illegals or flat out lying about the true cost of this problem. Citizens are forced to pay for illegals, while they send money back to Mexico. Why not? They don't need it here!
I really think it is time for a revolution.....

Increase in foreclosures should be a given...
Rise in foreclosures a shock
Considering the direction of the finances of this country and it's citizens for the last 4+ years, it is hard to see why anyone would be shocked at the current situation.
Housing valuations went through the roof in 2005 and 2006. People living in the "here and now" and using little common sense, refinanced every dime they could get from their homes - based on unrealistic values provided by the real estate industry and it's appraisers.
Mortgage lenders stepped in to build the calamity by providing easy loans and quick cash to those with minimal proof of ability to re-pay. Why?
Because they received fees from every single loan they placed.
Then the real estate market began to return to reality. However, the economy itself, stressed by the real estate, mortgage, banking and finance anomalies, went into a nosedive. People began losing jobs. All that "cash-out" money is now tied to high interest credit debt - not even tax deductible - as was the mortgage interest.
So now people have a $200,000 mortgage on a house worth $150,000. They have a new car payment and a bunch of new credit card debt for all the new toys they bought.
I'm sorry but I feel NO PAIN for these people. You were living in a dream world when you refinanced - while you were on that Bahamas vacation, I was not. Now you'll have to suffer your own consequences for poor decision-making and for letting yourselves be manipulated by the government, the banks, your realtors, and your mortgage brokers.

We need to push harder for E-Verify usage
Illegal immigrants might get stimulus jobs, experts say
This is an update to a story I already commented on a week or two ago.
The "update" is that as part of the new stimulus package, the government all but guaranteed employers will not be using E-Verify to establish immigration status.
Why?
They don't have to. It's not a requirement for anyone - whether they are getting "stimulus" dollars or not.
Why did they use our tax dollars to develop this system and then not use it? No stimulus there! It's not as if employers - already benefiting from paying illegal immigrants in an illegal manner, have to pay to use the system. It's FREE!

We can't get rid of illegal Hispanics in the US, but...
Mullen offers Mexican update to Obama
... we can discuss with the Mexican government on how WE can send military to assist them with their drug war????
WHAT?
If we don't have enough money to get illegal Mexicans in our country OUT of our country, I am sure not interested in going TO their country to help them with their drug wars. The threat of this problem spilling across the border into the US is way too late...it's already here.
The population of Mexico (July 2008) is: 109,955,400*
The number of illegal immigrants of Mexican origin in the United States is roughly 20,000,000, based on the loose estimates the government provides.
So, draw your own conclusions about how much we, American citizens, are already supporting Mexico - with our tax dollars - against our will. The numbers show we are already feeding, clothing, educating and medicating 1 in 5 Mexicans on the planet.

I want my mortgage reduced too!
House passes bill to let judges rewrite mortgages
This is just a really bad move.
Once again, those who mismanaged their lives will be gifted and those who DID manage their lives will be...expected to gift those who erred.
This makes no sense and will not solve the underlying problems. It is a gratuitous gift and I don't feel like footing the bill...again.
This should scare everyone but it will get lost in the weeds of this entire mortgage issue.
Once again, a credit/lending based organization is getting their hands in the bankruptcy process. They lobbied for ten years to restrict bankruptcy protection which they finally got a couple years ago. Now, they want the ability to decide whether or not someone has jumped enough hoops to be allowed certain bankruptcy protections. These are supposed to be ours, by law.
I don't see much of this happening to Mr. Madoff.
I stick behind my prior post.
Nothing but worse and worse news for those of us who have lived frugally. We will get none of the benefits and all the costs of this mortgage nightmare our government regulators allowed to happen.
This is just a really bad move.
Once again, those who mismanaged their lives will be gifted and those who DID manage their lives will be...expected to gift those who erred.
- Allows bankruptcy judges to make changes on existing loans only, not future ones. Changes could include reducing the principal or interest rate, as well as extending the length of the loan. They could lower the interest rate to as low as 2%.
This makes no sense and will not solve the underlying problems. It is a gratuitous gift and I don't feel like footing the bill...again.
- The goal behind these measures is to ensure homeowners have sought other ways to get relief before turning to bankruptcy. The bill also protects lenders from lawsuits for reasonable loan modifications
This should scare everyone but it will get lost in the weeds of this entire mortgage issue.

Oil sharks and paybacks...
Oil company cutbacks may raise gas prices down the road
Very funny..."down the road"
Actually, none of this is funny. The following sentence reveals a lot about the thinking in the oil industry:
"But the oil industry is quietly sowing the seeds for a sharp run-up in gas prices once demand recovers. "
I hope all the uninformed who were chanting, "Drill baby, drill" take note.
What to do now is to make sure there is no recovery in demand. This is the control American consumers rarely take advantage of in time to prevent what we lived through last year. Do it now - exert some control over this out-of-control market.
"We just don't see any reason to accelerate production in a very low-price environment," says Vince White, Devon's senior vice president of investor relations."
They are cutting back exploration and development because they don't think they will make enough money!
These are the same companies who spent millions of dollars lobbying Bush & Co to get them NEW oil leases...now they are doing less with what they already had?
I'm not sure how anyone can not see the blatant greed in this industry.
Permanently destroying our coastlines to benefit companies with this ideology makes no sense to anyone who has any. The self-interest of the industry is clear.
